Equipped with a full wet bath / shower, galley gas-powered kitchen, ac / heat, Dometic refrigerator, and a full solar set-up, this modern habitat designed by a former NASA engineer is suited for everyone to get out and enjoy any place, any time, comfortably and safely with modern necessities. This camper can comfortably sleep four people. There is a full sized bed in the back, and a couch that converts to bunks toward the front of the camper (the top bunk has a safety/storage net, as well). You can even hang a hammock down the galley of the kitchen for a fifth guest. It comes equipped with a Taxa-certified dealer-installed solar power system, consisting of rigid Renogy Monocrystaline solar panels on the pop-up portion of the roof, which power two Interstate 31-series AGM batteries for 105 realized amp hours. Solar usage can be monitored by the dealer-installed Expion 360 Battery Monitor in the galley kitchen, or by cell phone app. The camper comes with an AC unit, and we’ve taken additional steps to improve its functionality with a strut-assisted shield allowing for better air flow. We also had a MaxxAir bi-directional vent fan installed above the wet bath for better airflow on warmer days, or when you don’t want your lingering smells from cooking in the galley. Camping in the cold’s no problem, thanks to the Truma Combi system, which runs on the two jack-mounted propane tanks. This system is what turned us on to Taxa in the first place – it’s hyper efficient, and has been serviced and maintained throughout ownership. The bench and sleeping area in the back of the mantis has been modified into a strut-assisted bed frame. We found ourselves leaving this area set up as a bed nearly all the time, and this mod made the under-bed storage area easier to access. We’ve made this and a few other mods to our Mantis, but we still have all the original pieces if you’d like it returned to its stock state before purchase (we can toss the extra pieces in regardless, If you change your mind in the future). The dry weight of this camper is 3,970lbs, and the hitch weight is 440lbs. We’ve towed it with our 2019 Subaru Ascent (max tow capacity 5,000), and our 2020 Toyota Tacoma (max tow capacity 6,400). Both vehicles towed this trailer handily. On the exterior, we’ve purchased an ARB Deluxe Awning room (which attaches directly to the stock ARB awning), the camper comes with an anti-sway hitch, and an Autow Brake system allowing for easier stopping no matter what car you’re using to pull the Mantis. Overall, our family has made some incredible memories in the camper, and the places that it’s allowed us to go. Our family is growing, and we just can’t all fit comfortably inside this camper on extended trips. This camper has been titled, insured, and stored in our private driveway, properly winterized each year we’ve owned it, deep cleaned after each trip, and covered in a weather proof camper cover in winter months. It’s got a current state inspection and is in great working order. Please feel free to write with any specific questions about this rig. I will tow this trailer to the buyer and perform a detailed walk through of all its systems anywhere along the East Coast for an additional fee.
